Weapons and Items
Picture of Item or Weapon | Name of Item or Weapon | Description |
Lance |
The starting weapon of Knight Arthur. It is average in speed and good for straight forward shooting. An excellent weapon | |
Knives |
Arthur can acquire this weapon in his
travels. You will find it in ceramic pots left behind by monsters
They are like lances, only faster. They are smaller than lances. |
|
Fire |
Arthur can acquire this weapon in his
travels. You will find it in ceramic pots left behind by monsters
This weapon allows for Arthur to throw a handful of fire towards an enemy. If the weapon hits the ground instead of an enemy, it will cause a momentary fire eruption on the spot where it falls, causing all monsters near to it to take damage and/or die. It is slow and not very good for rapid fire action (as it takes a few moments for the fire to dissipate on the ground. |
|
Axe | Arthur can acquire this weapon in his
travels. You will find it in ceramic pots left behind by monsters
Axes are heavier than lances and knives, making their travel in the air arched. Gravity quickly pulls them down, making them a short-range weapon. Their stronger build allows axes to travel through several opponents, causing damage to all hit and/or death. However, because they go through enemies, it takes longer for Arthur to be able to shoot again after he uses the weapon. It is definitely not a good rapid fire weapon. |

Holy Shield
*Holy Cross* |
Arthur can acquire this weapon in his
travels. You will find it in ceramic pots left behind by monsters
The weapon(s) necessary to kill Satan. The Holy Shield is a short range weapon, as it evaporates after being shot a few feet away from Arthur. It's larger size allows for more attack range and its holy properties allows it to block any enemy SHOOTING attack (fireballs, maces, stones, etc). You need to acquire this weapon to face Satan * In the World (Europe, etc) arcade version of Ghosts 'n' Goblins, the weapon used to kill Satan is the Holy Shield. However, I have seen other versions (USA, Japan, etc) and one or more of them has replaced the Shield with a Holy Cross. Both have the same effect. Whether a Shield or a Cross is in your game depends on the region version of your rom set. Refer to the Ghosts 'n' Goblins emulation page for more info. |
